This week Alpesh has been busy in Scotland rehearsing for his final concerts of the year with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, taking place at the Glasgow City Halls on the 13 December and the Aberdeen Music Hall on the15 December. Some highlights from their rehearsals can be seen in the gallery above.
Cellist Pablo Ferrandez will join Alpesh and the orchestra in Glasgow for Dvorak's Cello Concerto, alongside Clyne's Masquerade and Sibelius' Symphony No. 2. On Saturday evening, Alpesh and the BBCSSO travel to Aberdeen for a programme that includes Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kije Suite, Sibelius' Symphony No. 2 and Grieg's Piano Concerto played by Freddy Kempf.
Alpesh looks forward to a busy start to 2019, joining the Orchestra e Coro del Teatro Carlo Felice for Bernstein's West Side Story on the 1, 3, 4 and 5 January before travelling to France for two concerts with the Opera National de Lorraine. Alpesh then returns to Italy for the first concerts of the new year with the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini conducting Beethoven's 5th and 6th symphonies, before rounding the month off leading the Malmö Symphoniorkester through a programme of Wagner, Tarrodi and Bruckner on the 31 January.
